ASUS has launched a new line of Chromebooks designed specifically for the educational sector, emphasizing durability, connectivity, and productivity. The Chromebook CZ series is built to withstand the demands of daily student use while delivering performance optimized for learning environments.

The laptops feature either 180° lay-flat or 360° flippable hinges, allowing them to transition between laptop and tablet modes seamlessly. This flexibility supports collaborative learning, group discussions, and individual study sessions alike. The series includes two display options: an 11.6-inch model (CZ1104C/F) and a slightly larger 12.2-inch variant (CZ1204C/F), both with 16:10 WUXGA resolution and touchscreen capabilities on the flippable versions.

Durability is a key focus, with the Chromebook CZ series meeting or exceeding MIL-STD-810H military-grade standards. This includes an all-around rubber bumper, Corning Gorilla Glass protection for the display, and a spill-resistant keyboard that can handle minor water exposure without damage. Additional features like a fingerprint-resistant finish and anti-drop captive screws further enhance longevity.

Under the hood, the series is powered by MediaTek's Kompanio 540 processor, which leverages Arm-based architecture for improved power efficiency. This allows for up to 19 hours of battery life, catering to a full day of use without interruptions. The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 7 and optional 5G connectivity, ensuring reliable performance both in and out of the classroom.

ASUS Expands Educational Tech with Rugged Chromebook CZ Series

Storage and memory are handled by 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMC storage, providing ample space for educational applications and multitasking. A 5MP world-facing camera is included, useful for video recording in tablet mode or virtual learning sessions.

ASUS has also incorporated Antimicrobial Guard technology on the keyboard area, which uses silver ions to inhibit microbial growth—a practical addition given the high-touch nature of student devices. The display is TÜV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light levels, reducing eye strain during prolonged use.

The Chromebook CZ series is designed with IT maintenance in mind, featuring a modular architecture that simplifies hardware upgrades and reduces downtime. This is complemented by Chrome Education Upgrade support, which offers multi-layer security, automatic updates, and streamlined deployment for educational institutions.

Connectivity options are comprehensive, including two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, HDMI 1.2, an audio combo jack, and a Kensington Lock slot, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of peripherals.

This launch reflects ASUS's ongoing commitment to providing robust, educational-focused hardware that balances performance, durability, and ease of use. With its blend of rugged design and advanced connectivity, the Chromebook CZ series is positioned as a reliable tool for modern learning environments.
