Splitgate: Arena Reloaded is undergoing a significant transformation with its latest update, which introduces a fresh take on battle royale gameplay, two new arena maps, and expanded community-driven features. The game, originally conceived as a culmination of the original Splitgate and its predecessor, Splitgate 2, has been steadily evolving since its relaunch in late 2025.
The centerpiece of this update is Arena Royale, a battle royale mode designed to maintain the fast-paced, high-intensity combat that defines Splitgate. Unlike traditional battle royales, Arena Royale emphasizes quick, decisive encounters with fewer looting mechanics and more focused firepower. Matches will feature 24 players divided into six teams of four, competing across four distinct biomes—drought, glacier, fracture, and the newly introduced urban Outskirts. Players begin in a warm-up space before voting on the map for the round, adding a layer of strategy to match selection.
Reviving mechanics are also reworked to keep gameplay fluid. Squad members can be revived as long as at least one teammate remains alive, but revivals are disabled once players reach the final circle, ensuring matches remain snappy and competitive. Weapons upgrades are available on-the-fly during matches, allowing players to spend earned cash for inventory improvements without pausing the action.
In addition to Arena Royale, two new arena maps are joining the roster. Trihard, a high-altitude map designed for aerial combat, features launch portals and jump pads that challenge players to master vertical movement. Runway, inspired by Tokyo’s Shinjuku district, offers a dense urban landscape tailored for tactical play while preserving Splitgate’s signature pace.
Players can also engage with new maps early through 1047 Labs, a feature that lets them test community-created content before it enters the main game. Creator maps will soon appear in the quick-play pool, further expanding the game’s replayability.
A new weapons mastery skin, a bright green camo pattern, rewards players who unlock and master all of Splitgate’s arsenal with Preolium. Additionally, a limited-time Teabag event starting January 23 pays homage to the original game’s Teabag Confirmed mode, requiring players to teabag fallen enemies to confirm kills.
These changes position Splitgate: Arena Reloaded as a dynamic evolution of its predecessors, blending competitive depth with accessible gameplay. The update aims to attract both returning fans and new players by offering fresh challenges while retaining the core mechanics that made Splitgate a standout in the shooter genre.
