Since it’s not often we see one on Overclockers, today we present the Gigabyte X870I AORUS PRO ICE. It’s not the latest, but it’s still quite a new model and definitely worth highlighting. The tested version is 1.1, so a few things have already been improved, including support for higher RAM frequencies. All those details count a lot for overclockers and enthusiasts. Especially those who love the ITX-size motherboards should find something interesting in our article. The X870I AORUS PRO ICE supports the latest components, such as high-speed DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0, USB4, high-end audio, and WiFi 7. The list of exciting features is longer, and we won’t tell you everything in the introduction, but it’s worth reading our review. Gigabyte X870I PRO ICE – Source: Gigabyte Specifications and Features of the Gigabyte X870I AORUS PRO ICE The X870I PRO ICE is the highest ITX form factor model from Gigabyte. It’s not the highest enthusiast series motherboard, but it shares some features and controllers with top models. We can find everything that was reasonable to install in the tiny ITX-sized space, including a high-end audio codec, Wi-Fi 7, an EZ socket, and a slot design. At first sight, we may miss some features that make this little motherboard unique. I will tell you about it later. The tested motherboard is on revision 1.1. It means it was slightly improved and now officially supports faster components, such as high-speed RAM. For the max frequency, we will still need an 8000 APU, as only those CPUs support RAM at more than 8600 MT/s. With the Ryzen 9000 series, we have to be really lucky to reach more than 8200 MT/s while maintaining full stability. It causes most users to see no difference, and the single chip perfectly fits on small motherboards, like the reviewed X870I PRO ICE. In other words, if the X870I PRO ICE had the X870E chipset, it wouldn’t make a functional difference. We still have all the USB4 ports and PCIe 5.0 lanes, so performance with new devices is similar.
