The Care Center in Resident Evil Requiem presents players with a series of locked containers, each requiring a lockpick to access. Unlike previous entries in the series, these tools are not limited by quantity, ensuring that every simple lock can be opened without strategic planning—though such caution is unnecessary given the abundance.
The primary reward for unlocking these containers is Rare Metal, a material essential for crafting ammunition for the Requiem weapon. This guide details the locations of all five lockpicks in the Care Center, allowing players to efficiently gather this valuable resource while navigating the hospital's zombie-infested halls.
One lockpick is situated on top of a side cabinet in the Lead Researcher's Office, located in the 1F East Wing. It can be found immediately upon entering the room, slightly to the left and straight ahead near a lamp. Another is hidden in the Custodian's Office within the GF West Wing, accessible only after obtaining the ID Bracelet (Level 1) to unlock a security point near the kitchen on the ground floor of the West Wing. This lockpick resides in a locker against the back wall.
Proceeding upward, players will encounter another lockpick in an Office within the 1F West Wing. This one lies on a desk at the far end of the room, easily accessible after retrieving the previous lockpick from the Custodian's Office. The fourth lockpick is nestled in a vent connecting the Workshop to the room with the forklift, which blocks access to Inspection. Players must use a joint plug to open a door at the far end of the Holding Cells before entering the vent through a corner of the room.
The final lockpick is located in the Boiler Room on the -1F Basement level. To reach it, players must power the Boiler Room door near the Security Room save point using a joint plug. However, to retrieve this lockpick, they should instead power another door down the corridor to the left, entering the room from behind. This lockpick is particularly valuable because accessing the Bunkroom locker containing it is one-way; once entered, players cannot return, making timely retrieval crucial.
Despite the presence of five lockpicks, only four simple locks are present in the Care Center. Three of these are situated in the upper levels, while the fourth is located in the basement Bunkroom. Each lock contains Rare Metal, which can be used to craft bullets for the Requiem weapon after analyzing a sample in a locked room adjacent to the East Wing Waiting Room. This material is highly sought after, making the process of unlocking these containers both practical and rewarding.
