Bungie’s upcoming survival game Marathon* will open its servers to a free Server Slam Test just days before its March 5 launch. The test, running February 26–March 2, lets players on PC and PS5 experience the game’s core mechanics—including two survival zones, all six core Runner shells (plus the solo Rook shell), and the first five contracts—without purchase.

The announcement came alongside a new gameplay trailer during Bungie’s State of Play event, where game director Joe Ziegler previewed the game with streamers TheBurntPeanut and Gingy. The trailer highlighted Marathon’s narrative-driven survival gameplay, blending extraction mechanics with a story-rich setting.

Participants who join the test and later buy the game will receive a special emblem and player banner. Additionally, PS Plus subscribers can claim three weapon charms inspired by other PlayStation Studios titles: Helldivers 2, Ghost of Yotei, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
