ASUS is implementing targeted price increases for its RTX 50 series GPUs in mainland China, with the highest hike affecting the RTX 5090 D V2 at 500 yuan (approximately $72). The adjustment comes as memory costs continue to climb, prompting similar moves across GPU vendors. Notably, RDNA 4-based RX 9000 cards are not part of this revision.

This latest round of price changes follows an earlier factory cost adjustment in late February. The RTX 5080 series saw increases ranging from 100 to 200 yuan ($15–$30), while the RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 Ti (16GB) models were raised by 100 yuan. The only exception is the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, which remains at its current price.

Key specs for the affected models include

ASUS Adjusts RTX 50 Series Pricing in China Amid Market Shifts
  • RTX 5090 D V2: +500 yuan
  • RTX 5080: +100–200 yuan (entry-level models)
  • RTX 5070 Ti: +200–300 yuan
  • RTX 5070 / RTX 5060 Ti (16GB): +100 yuan
  • RTX 5060 Ti (8GB): unchanged
  • Other series (5050, 3050, etc.): +40–55 yuan

The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB is also reported to have better availability than its 16GB counterpart. AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs (RX 9000 series) are not impacted, maintaining their current pricing.

This adjustment underscores the ongoing squeeze on GPU margins due to rising memory prices. While ASUS has historically been criticized for premium pricing, this latest move aligns with industry-wide cost pressures. For PC builders, the changes may tighten budgets further, especially in high-end configurations. Looking ahead, market stability will depend on whether memory costs stabilize or continue their upward trend.
